This listing allows you to order the silicone period cup of your choice and/or the number and size of as many reusable pads as you need. Just keep adding items to your cart, and then pay altogether, so that you can meet the minimum in order to receive the free shipping discount and get the custom set you desire. The only difference between the three cups is the color: "Pink" is opaque light pink, "Purple" is opaque light lavender, and "White" is opaque white. Pad sizes are listed below.
New to menstrual cups?  Period cups are shaped like upside down bells and are an eco-friendly alternative to tampons. They are reusable, and one cup lasts for years, saving you money and reducing environmental waste. Like a tampon, the cup goes entirely inside the lower part of the vagina. It sits behind the pubic bone and below the cervix and collects the period flow in the bell shaped cup, rather than absorbing it as tampons do.
The best way to learn about how to use them is to watch any of the numerous videos available online. Here are the basic steps:
1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
2. Check that the tiny air holes at the top of your cup are not clogged.
3. Wash and rinse the cup.
4. Fold the cup into itself to (videos really help with this!)
5. Insert into the vagina. The bell part goes up towards the cervix and the stem part goes downward.
6. Check that the cup has fully opened with your fingers.
The cup can stay in place up to twelve hours for a regular flow. You can change it more frequently as needed (2-4 times a day is normal). After a few cycles you will figure out your own body's needs. It can be left in place at night. Your own vaginal muscles keep it in place.
How to remove the cup:
1. Wash hands thoroughly
2. Relax your pelvic muscles and slide your fingers inside the vagina until you are able to grasp the bottom of the bell.
3. Squeeze it to break the seal
4. Pull the cup out by the bottom of the bell, not the stem
5. Empty, clean and either put it back in place, or set aside for your next cycle.
IT IS VITAL THAT YOU ALWAYS KEEP YOUR HANDS AND CUP CLEAN DURING YOUR CYCLE. Wash carefully before and after every use. Do not check or empty without washing your hands first. The cup should not cause odor if used properly (although blood itself, does have a smell). To avoid odor and discoloration, rinse first in cold water, and then wash with hot water and a mild soap that is safe on silicone and kills bacteria. Make sure to rinse it well to avoid irritation from the soap contacting the body. Not washing your cup or hands can result in infection.
Just like tampons, there can be occasional leakage, so we do recommend some reusable pads to go along with your cup, or for times when you are not using it.
The reusable sanitary pads are meant to replace the need for buying disposables that contain plastics, come wrapped in individual plastic wraps, inside bigger plastic bags. They are an investment that costs more than disposables up front, but because they can be washed and reused for years, you will save a great deal of money in the long run (and you help save the environment, too!) They're completely non-toxic, chemical-free, and washable.

The outside of these pads are waterproof, with a gorgeous pattern that is DARK in color to minimize the appearance of stains. You love these flowers in purples, blues and greens on a black background. There is a layer of super soft charcoal gray cotton in the middle that goes against the body. This is very soft, like gentle flannel or fleece. They have a single snap closure, except for the overnight pad, which has two, in case you roll around a good bit in your sleep.
It is common to own a number of different sizes of these, depending on your personal needs. We have another DARK pattern available in our store if you would like to browse, and those also count towards the minimum for free shipping.
The matching zippered Wet Bag is large enough to hold one cup, one overnight pad or a few smaller pads that have been used during the day and need to be carried home discreetly in something that will not leak in your purse.
Are you new to the world of reusable menstrual pads? Most of us grew up with disposable feminine hygiene products. It seemed that the only option was to go to the store and purchase what was available there: sticky plastic-backed, bleached out, white cotton disposables, sometimes with a strong, irritating perfume. Not only did the cost of buying them month after month quickly add up, but they could be very uncomfortable to wear! Cloth pads cost more up front than a pack of disposables, but they last for a VERY long time. Imagine not having to spend another cent on pads for years! Disposable sanitary pad manufacturers aren’t required to list all of the chemicals in the pads. Some consumer watchdogs have done testing on them and said they show indications that they may contain dioxins, synthetic fibers and petrochemical additives. We know a lot these days about the hazardous nature of plastic chemicals, so many women are thinking twice about wearing these plastic products so close to their skin.
The easiest way to clean your pads is to just toss them into the washing machine. You can wash them on cold or warm settings; just avoid using hot water because that has the potential to set stains. Then you can either air dry the pads or tumble dry on the low setting.
Personally, we found that soaking the pads in cold water with some detergent really helps to keep them from staining. We suggest a "Period Pail," such an cleaned old bucket that once held laundry detergent or kitty litter. You can actually pour a little liquid detergent directly onto stains and let it sit, and then once all the pads have been used, add some cold water and let it sit a while before dumping the whole thing into the washer on a delicate or handwash / gentle cycle.
Our packaging and mailers are made of 100% recycled paper (unless we need to use the USPS Priority or Express mailers which are just "made from" post-consumer waste). Our own 100% recycled kraft mailers are reusable, recyclable, biodegradable, and even compostable, plus we use vegetable based ink! The USPS shipping and tracking label is the only thing we don't have control over (sorry!)
